Member Exclusive Post: Pettigrew State Park Full Research Stream 11.06.2024

This morning I streamed the beginning bits of research for Pettigrew State Park in Creswell, NC. We discussed the history, the location, the possibility of werewolves, Jason, wereJason, werechihuahuas, swarms of mosquitos, and if you can be born a werewolf. Don't miss tomorrow morning's "Coffee and Research" stream from 8-9 am eastern (New York time, if you are outside of the US) on Twitch!

The Legend of the Pettigrew State Park Werewolf

The Legend of the Pettigrew State Park Werewolf Location: Pettigrew State Park, Creswell NC 27928 Located next to North Carolina's second-largest natural lake, Pettigrew State Park visitors have noticed something fur-miliar watching them from the woods. Werewolf? Dogman? Were-Jason because this place, with its multiple spooky stories, definitely has Camp Crystal Lake vibes? Let's dive in (but not into Lake Phelps, it's a bit shallow). Watch The Legend of the North Carolina Pettigrew State Park Werewolf The Lore Before we get too deep into this piece, I just want to say this was supposed to be a two-day research, write in a week, back in November thing. It's February...I actually had the research and my thoughts done in December but my ranting mouth got the better of me. I needed a break to share the lore with a clear mind. So if this reads less than together between the lore, facts, and my thoughts, well, the Lily wrote the ending then was in time out before writing the...

The Legend of the Siren of the French Broad River

The Legend of the Siren of the French Broad River Alluring Cherokee Cryptid or Just a Bunch of Babble? Location: Asheville, North Carolina Both a well-known and seemingly obscure legend, the Siren of the French Broad River is considered a Cherokee legend and has been making the rounds with non-Cherokee locals since 1845. Watch my research process and wrap-up videos here. The Lore Along the French Broad River, just east of Asheville, NC, weary male travelers have reported hearing a beautiful song and seeing a woman beckoning them from the water. If they are not careful, they fall into her arms and are pulled under the waters of the river, never to be seen again. In some tellings, the man falls victim immediately while in others, the siren visits him in his dreams over the course of 3 nights before luring him into the icy waters of the river. Welcome to Lily's Lore and Legends!

Welcome to Lily's Lore and Legends! Hello friends and fellow lore lovers! This is Lily's Lore and Legends, a blog focusing on all the myths, ghosts, cryptids, and strange things that have taken place in and around North Carolina and the United States. I'm Lily and ever since I was little, I've never been able to get enough of the unexplainable and the spooky. As a kid, I memorized almost every ghost story within a 20-mile radius of my hometown of Wilmington, NC and it wasn't uncommon for my weekly library books to contain at least one ghost story. As I got older, I started a personal collection of books focusing not just on ghosts but vampires, ghouls, dark legends, and more. And let's not mention the sheer number of horror and mystery shows and movies I've consumed over the years because it's a lot. Like a lot a lot, as horror is my number 1 to-go genre. Follow along as I share tales, locations, history, and more for as many ghosts, demonic creatures, s...
