Today's pocket lore really is just for fun...or is it? Ouija boards, also known as talking boards or spirit boards, are often found at teenage slumber parties, but how harmless are they really?

While we may never know, I do know I do not use them because there are some windows to the other side that I do not wish to open.

But for now, enjoy these vintage advertisements for ouija boards I found while summoning the Pinterest algorithm spirits.

Location: Asheville, North Carolina Both a well-known and seemingly obscure legend, the Siren of the French Broad River is considered a Cherokee legend and has been making the rounds with non-Cherokee locals since 1845.
