Pocket Lore - Newark Daily Advocate
This piece of #pocketlore came across my screen via Pinterest, and I didn't see a link to the original article in the post or in the Newark Daily Advocate newspapers.com archives. I am not sure if this was a real article or not, but it is an interesting one.
Just as a side note, the distance between Charlotte, NC and Apex, NC is 138.9 miles per Google Maps if you walked it. This path takes you along the Uwharrie National Forest. A wild animal would be able to cover that distance, though I do not know how easy of a path it would have been. I also do not know how they knew the animal was the one that killed the horses. But it is fun to speculate!
