Halloween Special Edition Lore: The Legend of Britain's Most Haunted Village

Halloween Special Edition Lore: The Legend of Britain's Most Haunted Village Pluckley is said to be the most haunted village in Britain with at least 12 different ghosts. Is it the most haunted village, or should we read the writing on the wall, er signs, that say ghosts aren't real? Location: Pluckley, UK I know I don't usually do deep dives on locations outside the United States, but someone has requested this one a couple of times, and since it's Halloween and all, I figured I could skip across the pond for a quickie look at what is said to be Britain's most haunted village. And because someone is the biggest skeptic I know and the town itself reportedly has had signs up saying ghosts aren't real, well, I might just try extra hard to debunk the ghosties reportedly haunting the area. We will consider this a Halloween treat, no tricks up the Lily's sleeve. Before I forget, this location was suggested to me by  The Artbook Collector over on the YouTubes. ...

Pocket Lore - St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands

#PocketLore - St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands This particular article seems to relate to the Fountain Valley massacre , though a quick search didn't pull up anything about courtroom curses. It did, however, pull up prisoner torture (please be advised if you click the link). View more Pocket Lore

The Lore of Bachelor's Grove Cemetery - The Hook and the Caretaker

The Lore of Bachelor's Grove Cemetery - The Hook and the Caretaker The Hookman urban legend is one we all know but did this legend start at Bachelor's Grove Cemetery? The lore of the Caretaker has ties to the Disappearing House, doppelgangers, and a theory that Lily wants to explore more... Watch the wrap-up video here. The Hook The Lore Back in October 2022, I shared the legend of the Hookman as part of my American Urban Legends: Killer on the Loose and said that multiple states claim to be home to the origin story location. Bachelor's Grove Cemetery happens to be one of those locations. According to my new favorite unknown writer, compiler, and general spooky story-teller, Pete Crapia, a researcher by the name of Richard Crowe helped introduce people to the legend of the Hook in the 1970s during radio broadcasts and later in 1985 as part of his The Ghosts of Chicago documentary. Now as this is one of my favorite urban legends, I would love to assume y'all all know...

Pocket Lore - London, UK

#PocketLore - London, UK This is another international one but it comes with a newspaper worth of pocket lore and old news ! I am not entirely sure if the story mentioned was just an urban legend or an actual recounting of a haunted cab , but it was printed in the Marlborough Express on February 20, 1903 (the Marlborough Express is a daily New Zealand newspaper that started in 1866, so I am assuming that is the one that printed this pretty piece of lore.) Pocket Lore - Gusher, UT

#PocketLore - Gusher, UT This one looks more fun than it is, unfortunately. (Did I say "fun"? I meant "creepy". Skinwalkers creep me out the most!) But, the only source I could find for this was from the Skinwalker Ranch fandom wiki . Also, that email address is available for use. Maybe it wasn't in 2011, but if it was George's, it isn't anymore. View more Pocket Lore

The Lore of Bachelor's Grove Cemetery - The Yellow Man

The Lore of Bachelor's Grove Cemetery - The Yellow Man The Yellow Man of Bachelor's Grove Cemetery was first seen in 1984 and has reportedly been photographed on multiple occasions. Is this dapper gent a collective figment of our imaginations, or is he just another resident of America's most haunted cemetery? Watch the wrap-up video here. The Lore During the summer of 1984, Norman Basile was at Bachelor's Grove Cemetery with an associate in hopes of capturing something paranormal. Several hours into their waiting, his associate saw what appeared to be a man in his 40s wearing a yellow suit and hat. Moments later, both men saw red lights streaking by, and a nearby tree began to shake on its own. The men then left the area. There is supposedly a photo of the Yellow Man taken at this sighting, but I could not locate a copy online. A second reported sighting was published in 1996, though the year of the sighting is not given. A woman named Heather was with her father and a ...
